Love Story

I've been at Disney now for a little over 6 years. I began working as a freelancer for Jeff Shelly. When you are new to a job, it takes a while sometimes to make friends. I knew a guy that worked here that I went to school with and he invited me to hang out with him and his RSM buddies. We all would go out to lunch, go bowling, make movies... it was fun! As events at work changed, people hung out less, but the guy from school (if you havent guessed it yet, it was Terrell) and I started doing more stuff together, and became fast friends. We flirted back and forth and on Valentine's Day, he gave me this little card and chocolates. After that, he would draw little pictures of me and put them on my door, desk, email, wherever. it was so cute! and so was he!... so.... we got married.
He's still cute.

Disney

At Disney, what happens alot is that i am handed artwork that someone else started and told to add to, modify, or improve the art. "Just Disney" was an art style, i think from japan or someplace, and exchanged hands a few times and ended up in my lap. They had done Pooh Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger and Dumbo. I did the rest. The program was finally cancelled due to its close similarity to "Cuties"... which I also ended up working on.

Grandpa Gil

This is Grandpa Gil. He was very grumpy all the time. But I loved him alot. He had a quiet way about him. When I was a kid he taught me how to track animals and build things. He died last year... he was in his 90's I think.

Maya oh Maya

So, I've been taking Maya classes... Its really fun and I enjoy it, though I am not yet that great at it. My husband is taking classes as well, and he has really taken to it, so it makes it more fun for me because we can work together to problem solve. Anyway... Here is one of the assignments we had for our class... it still needs a little work, but i thought it was kinda neat.

Apes

In my quest to find images to add to my blog, I have stumbled across some old stuff. I put some of them together here. I am working on a couple of new things, but in the meantime, enjoy some history! I used to draw alot using a fine point pilot pen... its fun, but when you make a mistake you just have to work with it. These were done at the zoo in San Diego. I used watercolors as well as ink.

Lime girl

Girl in a lime sweatsuit at college. happened upon this drawing while cleaning out my garage. thought it was kinda cool... mostly it brings back memories of when i didnt have any paper, so i would just draw on whatever was available... this happens to be marker on slick tranparency film.
